Yale's Family Weekend: A Feast of Music & Dance Oct 3-5

Yale University's Family Weekend, taking place from October 3 to 5, promises a vibrant array of performances by student groups. Highlights include the Slavic Chorus, Yale Swing Dance Team, Yale Gospel Choir, Tangled Up in Blue, and the Berkeley College Orchestra.

Kicking off the weekend, Tangled Up in Blue, a folk music ensemble, will take the stage on Friday at 7:30 p.m. in the auditorium at 53 Wall Street. Later that evening, the Yale Gospel Choir, led by president Iyanu Nafiu since 2027, will present a spiritual performance at Battell Chapel, delving into Matthew 6:10 from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

On Saturday, the Slavic Chorus will serenade audiences at the Lazarus Pavilion on Yale Farm at 2 p.m., accompanied by local apple cider and pierogies. Meanwhile, the Yale Swing Dance Team will teach families the art of swing dancing on Beinecke Plaza at the same time. The Berkeley College Orchestra will mark the beginning of their 50th anniversary season with a performance in Battell Chapel at 2:30 p.m.

With dozens of performance groups gearing up for Family Weekend, Yale University offers a diverse range of entertainment for visitors. From folk music to gospel, swing dancing to orchestral classics, there's something for everyone to enjoy.
