Jordanians can now travel to a growing number of countries with ease, offering them greater opportunities for exploration and cultural exchange. As of mid-2025, Jordanian passport holders can enter 19 countries visa-free, including Barbados, Dominica, Ecuador, Georgia, Haiti, Lebanon, Malaysia, Micronesia, Rwanda, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Samoa, South Africa, Suriname, Tajikistan, Thailand, Tunisia, and Türkiye [1].

This expanded travel freedom is not limited to visa-free countries alone. Jordanian citizens have visa-free or visa-on-arrival access to around 51 to 53 countries, suggesting that there are more countries offering e-visa or visa-on-arrival facilities beyond the 19 that are strictly visa-free [3].

Some countries, such as the United Arab Emirates, host a large expatriate population of Jordanians, making it a popular destination for Jordanians seeking to live and work abroad [2]. However, it is essential to check the specific requirements of the destination before travel, such as duration of stay, authorities approval, and any additional documents that may be required.

For instance, Jordanian passport holders must obtain an Electronic Travel Authorisation (eTA) prior to visiting Kenya, Seychelles, and Sri Lanka [4]. Similarly, Albania, Antigua and Barbuda, Azerbaijan, Bahamas, Bahrain, Benin, Botswana, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Colombia, Democratic Republic of Congo, Cuba, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon, Guinea, India, Kyrgyzstan, Liberia, Mauritania, Moldova, Montserrat, Morocco, Myanmar, Nigeria, Oman, Pakistan, Qatar, Russian Federation, Sao Tome and Principe, Singapore, Togo, Uganda, United Arab Emirates, Uzbekistan, Vietnam, Zambia, and Zimbabwe require an Electronic Visa for Jordanian passport holders [6].

Recently, a visa-free travel agreement has been established between Jordan and Uzbekistan, but this applies only to diplomats [5]. Despite these requirements, the ability to travel freely to various destinations has opened up new possibilities for Jordanians to connect with different cultures and broaden their horizons.

  1. The increased travel freedom for Jordanians has expanded opportunities for entertainment and cultural exchange, as Jordanians can now visit a growing number of countries.
  2. Business opportunities may arise for Jordanians as they venture to new countries, considering the growing number of visa-free and visa-on-arrival destinations available.
  3. Keeping up with news about travel requirements for various destinations will help Jordanians avoid inconveniences like obtaining Electronic Travel Authorizations (eTAs) or Electronic Visas before visiting countries like Kenya, Seychelles, and Sri Lanka.
  4. The expanding horizons through travel can assimilate Jordanians into the lifestyles and traditions of different societies, fostering better understanding and global connectedness.
