Delving deeper into the charm of this picturesque region, Sanjeev Neupane, the chief administrative officer of the Shailung Rural Municipality, elaborates that the influx of tourists is escalating due to their arrival for various purposes, including meditation, study, research, and exploration.
With a significant chunk of tourists appearing on Fridays, Saturdays, and holidays, the Shailung Rural Municipality has achieved a monumental tourist inflow of nearly 20,000 individuals on Nepali New Year's Day in April!
What's the Secret Ingredient?
Thakur Acharya, another enamored tourist, praises the local body's effort to embellish Shailung's already captivating allure by building the miniature Great Wall. As Acharya expresses, the creation has only added to Shailung's enchanting appeal, further bolstering the tourist flow.
Funded jointly by the federal government's Ministry of Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation, along with the Shailung Rural Municipality, the project's total cost divided equally, with the federal government providing 70% and the local body contributing the remaining 30%.
To experience the riveting sensation of reaching Shailung, nestled in the territories of Dolakha and Ramechhap, tourists must traverse the half-kilometer stretch of the miniature Great Wall.
