Get ready for an exhilarating adventure in Sinaia, Romania! Starting around August 1, the mountain town—about 120 km north of Bucharest—will unveil the country's longest summer sledding track. The investment for this thrilling attraction is estimated at RON 12 million (EUR 2.4 million).
Sinaia, known for its famous Peles Castle and popular winter tourist destination, is eager to become an all-season paradise for tourists. The town welcomes around two million visitors during the winter season, and with the addition of the summer sledding track, it plans to draw in more adventurers year-round.
Maria Floricică, the general director of Transport Urban Sinaia, has shared the details of the exciting project. They have signed a contract for a single-rail sled installation, featuring 65 bob-style vehicles starting from Cota 1400 and reaching Cota 1000, at the departure station of the Sinaia gondola. The track will stretch over two kilometers, making it the longest summer sledding track in Romania. The project is financed through the agency's own funds and a bank loan.
Topping off this action-packed attraction, Sinaia also boasts major events and bike trails to captivate tourists throughout the summer months.
In the broader context of tourism in Romania, it's crucial to consider how promotion funds are allocated and communicated for maximum impact. Floricică underscores the value of strong marketing efforts and strategic investment, especially when showcasing the diverse attractions that Romania has to offer.
