Hawaiian Airlines and Marriott Bonvoy Partnership Comes to an End

The partnership between Hawaiian Airlines and Marriott Bonvoy, which allows customers to transfer Marriott Bonvoy points to HawaiianMiles, is set to conclude on August 20, 2025. After this date, transfers to HawaiianMiles will no longer be possible, but transfers to Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan (Hawaiian's new combined program partner) will continue.

Hawaiian Airlines' loyalty program, HawaiianMiles, will be fully merged into Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan on October 1, 2025. At that time, HawaiianMiles will cease to exist as a standalone program, and members will be transitioned to the new combined program with Alaska Airlines. HawaiianMiles accounts will have new Alaska Mileage Plan accounts automatically opened if needed.

Key Dates: - August 20, 2025: Last day to transfer Marriott Bonvoy points to HawaiianMiles (after which only Alaska Mileage Plan transfers are possible). - September 30, 2025: End of HawaiianMiles’ Buy & Fly bonus program and limitation of some HawaiianMiles account access during migration. - October 1, 2025: Complete integration of HawaiianMiles into Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan; HawaiianMiles program officially ends.

Some additional notes: - Hawaiian Airlines co-branded credit cards from Barclays will continue to be usable beyond October 1, 2025, but eventual changes or rebranding might occur as the programs fully integrate. - Some HawaiianMiles partner award bookings ended on June 30, 2025. - Certain HawaiianMiles benefits like mileage upgrades will no longer be available after the transition.

Customers can continue to earn Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan miles for stays at hotels participating in Marriott Bonvoy after linking their HawaiianMiles account to Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan. However, there is currently no message on the Marriott transfer page indicating that the partnership will end.

Hawaiian Airlines is also in the process of merging with Alaska Airlines. After the programs become a single entity, the feature to transfer Hawaiian Airlines miles into Alaska Airlines miles will no longer exist. Hawaiian Airlines plans to join the Oneworld alliance by 2026.

For every 60,000 points transferred, customers receive 5,000 bonus miles in their Hawaiian Airlines account. After August 20, 2025, customers can no longer convert Marriott Bonvoy points to HawaiianMiles. Instead, they can transfer Marriott points to Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan at the same rate as the Hawaiian option.

Recently, Hawaiian Airlines ended several partnerships, including the Delta partnership, and it is the latest partner to drop from Hawaiian Airlines. The ability to transfer Amex points to HawaiianMiles has also ended.

In summary, the partnership between Marriott Bonvoy and Hawaiian Airlines is ending later this month, and HawaiianMiles will cease to exist after October 1, 2025, and be fully integrated into Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan. Customers should plan accordingly and take advantage of the HawaiianMiles program's remaining benefits before the integration occurs.

  1. After August 20, 2025, travelers can no longer transfer Marriott Bonvoy points to HawaiianMiles for finance-related rewards in their Hawaiian Airlines account, but they can still convert Marriott points to Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan.
  2. Lifestyle enthusiasts who currently participate in the Hawaiian Airlines program, HawaiianMiles, should make the most of its remaining benefits like mileage upgrades before October 1, 2025, when the program will cease to exist and merge into Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan.
  3. With the end of the partnership between Marriott Bonvoy and Hawaiian Airlines, business opportunities that previously allowed customers to transfer points between the two programs will no longer be available after August 20, 2025, with only the partnership between Marriott Bonvoy and Alaska Airlines remaining.
