Magical encounter at the Festival: Bud meets Doll, the ventriloquist's dummy

The city of Krefeld is set to host an exciting puppet theater festival, "Budenzauber," at the Blaues Haus, with two productions replacing their usual home at the Fabrik Heeder. The festival, organized by Anke Zwering, a representative of the municipal cultural office in Krefeld, will kick off on September 14th.

On September 26th, audiences can look forward to "The Berlin City Musicians" by Zitadelle, a surprising interpretation of a well-known fairy tale. Meanwhile, "The Yark," a children's play about a monster, suitable for those aged 10 and above, will be performed by Berlin Theater im Bergmannkiez.

The Krefeld puppet theater is not limited to marionette shows or child-oriented entertainment. In fact, the plays performed are artistically high-quality, as evidenced by the lineup for the festival.

One of the highlights of the festival is the star performance by Nikolaus Hajan, a puppeteer, author, and performer from Graz. His complex drama, based on a person defamed as "genetically inferior" during the NS era, promises to be a thought-provoking experience.

Another noteworthy performance is "Waiting in Godow" from Theater Koblenz, which deals with the refugee and integration theme in a humorous manner.

Lukas Schneider from Stuttgart's puppet theater will present "Scaena Corpus" on September 21st, focusing on beauty ideals and self-perception. This performance is suitable for young people aged 14 and above.

Tickets for the festival can be purchased by phone (02151/864848) or via email at www.krefeld.de/kartenreservierung. The ordered tickets will be held at the box office. Ticket sales start on August 21st at 10 am, with prices set at 14 euros (reduced 7.50 euros).

All performances start at 8 pm, and the next performance at the Krefeld puppet theater is "Waiting in Godow" on September 19th. The Bremen stage Cipolla's chilling play "The Fall of the House of Usher," based on the short story by Edgar Allan Poe, lasts 70 minutes, while Nikolaus Hajan's performance lasts 120 minutes and is suitable for adults and young people aged 16 and above.

The Krefeld puppet theater festival at the Fabrik Heeder is always quickly sold out, so it's advisable to secure your tickets early.
