Longest Lagman in Almaty Establishes New Length Record
Feast Your Eyes on the Longest Lagman Ever Made!
мая 1, Kazakhstan's Unity Day, went down in history when the Jetisu District in Almaty's Aynabulaq microdistrict cooked up a storm, whipping up the longest lagman ever at an staggering 1704 meters. And here's the icing on the cake - it's now in the Kazakhstan Book of Records!
Nearly 20 kilograms of flour were used to knead the dough for this record-shattering lagman, with over 50 dedicated hands rolling out the noodles and cooking up the dish in just two hours.

"Rolling out those noodles wasn't a walk in the park," admitted Rahima Omarova, Chairperson of Jetisu District's Mothers' Council in Almaty. "But our chefs handled it like champs, ensuring the dough didn't crack under the pressure!"
As a testament to unity, folks from all walks of life pitched in to cook up this colossal lagman, demonstrating the power of diversity coming together over a shared Kazakhstani dastarkhan (tablecloth).

"It's not just about the length of the noodles," said Bakhytzhan Sabituly, an official representative of the Kazakhstan Book of Records. "This event is monumental for our country as it showcases the resilience of our interethnic bonds."
Zuhra Izmassova, one of the magnificent maestros behind the lagman, shared her thrilling experience. "It was tough, no doubt about it," she confessed. "But tackling a challenge like this makes it all the more exciting!"
The massive culinary event was a collaborative effort between Jetisu District residents and ethnocultural centers, organizing a feast to remember to celebrate Kazakhstan's Unity Day.
In the words of Jetisu District Akimat, "Lagman is no longer just a delicious dish. It's a tasty symbol of our shared culture, traditions, history, and future."
This isn't the first time Kazakhstan has shattered records. In 2023, they welcomed Guinness World Records with open arms, breaking a record by gathering in national attire along the Caspian Sea coast. Truly, Kazakhstan sure knows how to pack a punch, blending celebrations with a pinch of history!
