Locanda Verde Opens in Hudson Yards with Art, Design, and Italian Cuisine
Locanda Verde, the beloved Tribeca osteria, has opened its second location in Manhattan's Hudson Yards. The 557 sq m venue, designed by Roman and Williams, spans two waterfront levels and showcases a blend of 'old world' charm and contemporary innovation.
The restaurant, located at 50 Hudson Yards, New York, NY 10001, United States, offers a menu of crudi, pasta, and shared dishes, accompanied by a cellar boasting over 700 wines. The space is adorned with paintings by Robert De Niro Sr., the father of the Hollywood actor and Locanda Verde partner, and murals by Dean Barger inspired by Portuguese artist Amadeo de Souza-Cardoso.
The design, a collaboration between Roman & Williams and L'Observatoire International, features locally quarried stone and hand-forged metals, reflecting the restaurant's Italy-focused ethos. The central dining room is a vibrant space with golden ambers, plush oranges, velvet striped upholstery, large mirrors, and hand-blown chandeliers. The Hudson Yards district, now a dominant skyline with large skyscrapers and new hospitality and retail spaces, welcomes this new culinary news.
Locanda Verde Hudson Yards, with its unique blend of art, design, and cuisine, is set to become a must-visit destination in the vibrant Hudson Yards neighborhood.
