Houston lounge to shut down, but positive development emerges

United Airlines is shaking up things at its Houston hub, located at George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH). Starting January 15, the airline's United Club in Terminal B will close, making way for something bigger and better.

Get ready for a new, roomier club set to open in 2026. To keep passengers comfortable during construction, United will proactively notify members and travelers with lounge-eligible itineraries about their options. For now, consider visiting a nearby club in Terminal C near gates C1 and C33. Alternatively, United's transitional Club Fly location in Terminal B is expected to launch in early 2025.

These changes are part of a long-term expansion plan for IAH's Terminal B. Until the new club's construction begins, United is making the most of temporary solutions. The "Club Fly" concept offers no-frills, grab-and-go amenities beyond beverages and snacks. So far, only one Club Fly location exists, at Denver International Airport (DEN), another large United hub.

Once completed, the new United Club in Terminal B will become the largest in the entire club network. Keep an eye out for further updates as construction progresses!

While the exact dates are subject to change, we can expect the new club to debut around 2026, while the new Terminal B Concourse B will likely open between 2028 and 2030. Get ready for a revamped United experience at IAH!
