Nestled in the Hivernage district of Marrakech, Morocco, the Sofitel Marrakech Palais Impérial & Spa offers a 5-star luxury experience for discerning travellers. Situated at Rue Harroun Errachid, Quartier de l’Hivernage, the hotel is conveniently located just 3 km from the Marrakech railway station and a short drive to Menara Mall and Jemaa el-Fnaa square.

The hotel boasts 157 to 332 spacious, air-conditioned rooms and suites, many with private balconies. Each room is equipped with modern amenities such as minibars, DVD players, LCD televisions, complimentary Wi-Fi, and bathrooms stocked with complimentary toiletries and hair dryers. Guests frequently praise the comfort and spaciousness of the rooms, although some have noted occasional noise disturbances and minor maintenance concerns.

The hotel's extensive amenities include multiple swimming pools, a fitness center, a car park, restaurants offering diverse cuisine, and a spa. The breakfast buffet is highly recommended, with an array of Moroccan breads, English breakfast staples, and fresh juices on offer. However, some have noted that spa bookings can be fully reserved, and the room's location in the furthest wing can make it a bit of a walk to reach the hotel's amenities.

The Sofitel Marrakech Palais Impérial & Spa also offers wheelchair accessibility and welcomes pets. Service staff are generally regarded as friendly and proactive, with some inconsistency noted by guests. The atmosphere is described as lively, with good entertainment options, including evening shows in the L’Orangerie restaurant. Cleanliness receives mostly positive comments, with some describing it as immaculate.

Price-wise, nightly rates for standard rooms range roughly from $235 to $429, with some sources indicating prices starting around $319, varying by season and room type. Some guests consider the hotel somewhat expensive relative to the level of luxury and service provided.

The hotel's bar and nightclub, SoFun, offers a live band and is reached through a bouncer-guarded metal detector. The hotel also has a traditional tea area with scattered cushions and a silver teaset on a rug. The hotel is beautifully decorated throughout with touches of Moroccan decor and elegant decorations.

The standard twin room is beautifully decorated with traditional Moroccan touches. The room is equipped with a Bose sound system and a well-stocked mini-bar. The bed is beyond comfortable, and the room has a small tiled balcony overlooking the pool and the Atlas Mountains. The suite is equally luxurious, with a huge comfortable bed trailed with rose petals, two bathrooms with big marble worktops and complimentary goodies.

In summary, the Sofitel Marrakech Palais Impérial & Spa offers a luxurious and well-located base in Marrakech with extensive amenities and generally positive guest feedback on rooms and services. It is suitable for travelers seeking comfort close to the city’s main attractions, although it may be priced at a premium compared to other options.
