The Krasnodar region, nestled on Russia's Black Sea coast, has seen a significant surge in tourism over the past decade. With over 30 wineries welcoming tourists and more than 11,000 hotels catering to visitors, the region has become a popular holiday destination for many.

The region's appeal lies in its diverse offerings, from scenic beaches to historical attractions and cultural experiences. Two districts, Anapa and Temryuk, are particularly noteworthy for their unique charm.

Anapa, famed for its sandy beaches along the Black Sea, offers a host of recreational activities, including swimming, sunbathing, and water sports. The city and district also host numerous resort complexes offering wellness treatments, mineral waters, and spa services. For history enthusiasts, Anapa boasts ancient fortress ruins and local museums showcasing Cossack history. Families can enjoy amusement parks, dolphinariums, and aquaparks, while wine lovers can embark on tours of local wineries.

Temryuk District, home to the Taman Peninsula, is known for its beaches along the Sea of Azov and Black Sea. The area is rich in archaeological sites, with ancient Greek and Scythian ruins. Nature reserves and wetlands nearby provide opportunities for bird watching and eco-tourism. Recreational fishing and boating activities are popular on the Sea of Azov shores.

The Kuban region, encompassing these districts, offers a blend of coastal recreation, historical exploration, and cultural experiences that make it a sought-after destination. This year, more than 730 tourist facilities, including ethnographic, natural, industrial, agricultural, and enogastronomic, are open for visiting in the Krasnodar region.

However, it's important to note that due to a recent accident involving tankers in the Kerch Strait, 150 beaches in the Anapa and Temruk districts are temporarily closed for visiting.

Despite this, the region continues to attract tourists, with approximately 300,000 holidaymakers starting their vacations in the resorts of the Krasnodar region in July alone. In addition, the region offers 445 equipped beaches with a total length of 115 km on the shores of the Black and Azov seas.

The Governor of Kuban, Veniamin Kondratyev, has highlighted the region's growing popularity, especially in the agrotourism sector. He emphasised that tourists can access 14 "steppe beaches" in twelve municipalities within the Krasnodar region. The Krasnodar region has received over 5 million tourists this year, according to Veniamin Kondratyev.

For those seeking more precise details or current top attractions, consulting local tourism resources or travel guides specific to Kuban, Anapa, and Temryuk is recommended. Agrotourism programmes in Anapa and the Temruk district, which include visits to cheese dairies, snail and oyster farms, and fish farms, are also worth exploring.

Tourists in the Krasnodar region can immerse themselves in a mix of beach vacations, historical sightseeing, and cultural experiences. The districts of Anapa and Temryuk, with their unique charms, are popular for travelers seeking lifestyle diversions, with Anapa offering resort complexes for wellness treatments and winery tours, and Temryuk providing archaeological sites and eco-tourism opportunities. Despite temporary beach closures due to recent incidents, the region continues to draw over 300,000 holidaymakers monthly, offering 445 equipped beaches for relaxation and recreation.
