High-end Wellness Spa Preferred by Celebrities: A Comprehensive Insight into Its Astonishing Features

Recently, the enigmatic wellness spa, Mii Amo, has been popping up on the Instagram feeds of A-listers like Hailey Bieber and Laura Harrier. Nestled in Sedona, Arizona's Boynton Canyon, this hidden gem is surrounded by the dramatic beauty of the desert and has a mystical, metaphysical appeal, all thanks to the energy vortexes that Sedona is known for. Trust me, after my three-night, four-day stay, I wanted to join the repeat visitors.
Although it opened its doors in 2001, Mii Amo underwent a major two-year, $40 million renovation and reopened in 2023 with fresh credentials from the exclusive luxury hospitality association Relais & Chateaux.
Situated just across a paved driveway from its neighboring resort, Enchantment, Mii Amo manages to feel secluded while still being part of the larger property. Enchantment guests can access certain common areas like the outdoor pool, spa, and on-site restaurant, Hummingbird. In return, Mii Amo guests can participate in Enchantment activities such as hiking, biking, tennis, and arts. If you want a truly immersive Mii Amo experience, however, staying at Enchantment and booking treatments at Mii Amo won't cut it—staying directly on-property as a Mii Amo guest is the way to go[2].
Upon arrival, all Mii Amo guests start their journey together, setting intentions and enjoying welcome drinks. My fellow travelers included groups of friends, couples, mother-daughter duos, and even solo wanderers like myself. What's fantastic about Mii Amo is that the journey is what you make of it; it can be as action-packed or as tranquil as you desire.
The all-inclusive stay includes a plethora of options, from fitness classes and outdoor adventures to the artist's cottage and, of course, the state-of-the-art spa. Each guest is assigned a journey guide who helps customize their treatments and book the activities that pique their interest[3].
My first impression was simply awe-inspiring. The modern yet cozy architecture blends seamlessly with the surrounding desert landscape. The effect is both stunning and humbling, making you feel at one with nature. The conversation pit in the main spa area is a sight to behold and, naturally, Instagram-worthy. As for the rooms, they're luxe casitas that each feature private outdoor spaces, spacious kitchens and dining areas, and living rooms adorned with working fireplaces[1]. The bathroom in my room featured a marble vanity and deep soaking tub with a skylight above it.
Dining at Mii Amo is far from the deprived stereotype you might associate with a wellness retreat. Instead, it's worthy of making a trip for itself. The head chef, who previously trained at Le Bristol in Paris, is in the process of building out the on-site garden to supply even more hyperlocal produce. With a menu that extends to all meals, snacks, and drinks (except for wine and beer, which are ordered à la carte), you can enjoy delicious meals poolside or in the comfort of your room[1]. The resort even encourages guests to don robes 24/7, both in and out of the dining room!
The spa offering is vast and unique to Mii Amo. From traditional spa classics like facials and body scrubs to more soul-focused sessions like energy healing and Reiki, there's truly something for everyone[3]. Over the course of my stay, I tried a variety of treatments, including the High Desert Body Wrap, a massage and body scrub followed by a nourishing wrap, and the Head, Neck, and Shoulders Massage and Signature Facial. I won't sugarcoat it—these treatments were simply the best I've ever experienced. My masseuse carefully guided me through proper positioning for sleeping to help alleviate neck and shoulder pain, and the facial left me looking refreshed and glowing[3].
I braved the metaphysical territory and signed up for both Energy Healing and Hypnosis sessions. Not quite sure what to expect, I was guided through a series of visualizations and introspective exercises. The sessions were incredibly enlightening and left me feeling more connected to myself than ever before[3].
Mii Amo placed a strong emphasis on mind-body wellness. From daily guided meditations to writing down intentions and walking along the crystal pathway, there are numerous opportunities to tap into a higher state of being if you're open to it[2]. The meditation rituals held in the mornings and evenings became my personal highlights, as I connected with like-minded individuals in a serene, candlelit environment[2].
Physical wellness was as much a part of my stay as spiritual and mental wellbeing. The gym offered cutting-edge weights and cardio equipment, as well as a Pilates reformer, while the studio above it hosted fitness classes like Pilates mat, yoga, and breathwork[1]. The best part, however, was getting outside and experiencing the natural beauty of the area. I embarked on both guided and solo hikes that took me to breathtaking viewpoints overlooking the Arizona desert[1]. The resort also boasts a stunning set of tennis and pickleball courts, providing the perfect opportunity to stay active in style[1].
With its wide range of offerings, personalized approach, and stunning surroundings, Mii Amo is a must- visit for anyone seeking a truly transformative and luxury wellness experience.
