Let's Fly in Style: The Lowdown on the New Chase Sapphire Lounge at Hong Kong International Airport
Get ready to take your Hong Kong trips to the next level, because the long-awaited Chase Sapphire Lounge has finally touched down at the Hong Kong International Airport (HKG)! This glorious sanctuary for travelers is slap-bang in the West Hall of Terminal 1, nestled cozy-like next to gate 40 on the departures level - Level 7. Fret not if you're departing from the East Hall, as shuttles and a brisk 10-15 minute walk will have you waltzing through the doors in no time.
This lounge will be the first of Chase's airport lounges to get off the ground, and they've got big plans to launch another eight lounges shortly. The meme-worthy question on everyone's lips is, "Will they keep 'em coming as fast as they--"? (...sorry, we can't help ourselves).
As it happens, the Hong Kong lounge is actually a reformed powerhouse, previously known as a The Club Lounge. Its grand reopening was on Oct. 25, with current operating hours running from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. local time. Hints of extended operating hours can be detected on the horizon, but for now, we're still waiting on concrete info about those.
Why Should You Care?
Are you a card-carrying holder of the fantastic Chase Sapphire Reserve? If so, congratulations! You've got yourself complimentary access to this and other upcoming Sapphire lounges. But what if you're not? Fear not, my friends, for the Sapphire Lounge in Hong Kong is also open to members of Lounge Key and Priority Pass. And if you've scored yourself a Priority Pass membership, well, you're about to get an exclusive sneak peek into the world of business travel luxury!
But heed this warning: Sapphire Reserve cardholders, even those with their cards on standby, won't be roaming in like the Kardashians on the red carpet. You'll need to activate your Priority Pass membership via your card and flash that bad boy at check-in.
And for all you Priority Pass or Lounge Key members out there, simply slip on your member card, and you'll be granted entry. The party doesn't stop there, either—each member can bring up to two guests along for the ride, and additional guests can join in the fun for a fee.
The Sweet Sounds of the Silk City
What can you expect when you walk through the doors of the Sapphire Lounge in Hong Kong? Prepare yourself for an oasis of modernity, elegance, and sheer opulence. This lounge pays homage to the host city through original artwork and locally-inspired culinary creations.
Upon entering, you'll find separate spaces tailored for both work and relaxation, complete with fresh and seasonal dining options, mixed drinks with a zing, local brews, and a meticulously curated wine list. You'll also get the essential perks like device-charging stations, complimentary high-speed Wi-Fi, slews of TVs, and air conditioning to beat the heat.
Even the ordering process has been modernized, with digital menus and food service happening all via your trusty smartphone or tablet screen. The menu, at the time of this writing, offers a hearty mix of dishes to satisfy a wide variety of palates, taking into consideration dietary preferences and religious requirements.
A New Port in Your Travel Journey
With the first Chase Sapphire Lounge in Hong Kong now gracing the skies, it's a glowing testament to the bank's ambitions. But remember, the Hong Kong lounge is just one in a fleet of upcoming global locations.
Get your passports ready, because the Sapphire Lounge is planning to set up shop in several U.S. airports, including New York (LaGuardia Airport), Boston, Las Vegas, Phoenix, Washington (Dulles International Airport), and San Diego. They've also got a couple secret locations yet to be revealed. So sit tight, my wanderlust warriors, for we shall be embarking upon thrilling adventures very soon.
