Guided exploration of a historic metropolis - the traditional option - open-to-all tour on the 20th of September
Lippstadt, a town steeped in history and character, invites you to embark on a leisurely exploration of its grand sacred buildings, historic walls, beautifully crafted timber-framed houses, and picturesque atmosphere.
The meeting point for this enlightening journey is at the town hall. On Saturday, September 20, 2025, at 2:30 PM, the city tour will commence, lasting approximately 90 minutes.
As you stroll through the town, you'll learn about Lippstadt's historical figures and sites, including the notable contributions of the noble family of Lippe, particularly Bernhard II von Lippe, who founded Lippstadt around 1190. Additionally, Friedrich Blankenburg, who founded the Lippstädter Verschönerungsverein (beautification association) about 150 years ago, played a significant role in shaping Lippstadt's green character.
Space is limited for the tour, so it's advisable to register in advance. You can do so at the city information desk in the town hall or by phone at 02941-58515.
Admission prices are as follows: adults pay 6.00 euros, while children, youth, and students pay 3.00 euros.
