Google has revamped its Home app, set to roll out from October 1, 2023. The update brings significant speed improvements, new features, and a unified hub for Nest devices.

The new Google Home app loads up to 70% faster, addressing long-standing bug issues. It introduces 'Ask Home', a feature allowing users to create automations, find recordings, and control multiple devices effortlessly.

The app now has three tabs: 'Home', 'News', and 'Automations'. Swipe gestures enable quick navigation. The 'News' tab offers a history of home events and introduces 'Home Brief' with a Google Home Premium subscription.

Google has integrated Gemini into the app design and unified Nest devices into a single hub. The new Home app supports all core Nest devices, including thermostats, cams, and doorbells. Users can now manage both Home and Nest products from one place.

The 'Automations' tab displays upcoming automations, with an improved automation editor featuring Gemini integration.
