Apple's Employee Giving program, established 11 years ago, has supported nearly 44,000 organisations worldwide, contributing to local communities and global causes in extraordinary ways.

The program has enabled Apple team members to make a significant impact. In India, Vinod Nitturi volunteered at a meal-packaging event, collectively putting together over 30,000 meals for Rise Against Hunger. Maranda Barhorst, an Apple Store team member, has volunteered in various ways, including reading audiobooks for children and helping a doula create materials for her nonprofit.

In a heartwarming gesture, Elyn Tang, an Apple Store team member in Shanghai, wrote a letter of support to a young girl, inspiring her to work hard towards her dream of becoming a teacher. Tang also volunteers with organisations that clean up local rivers, help families with children with disabilities, and connect teenage girls living in rural areas with mentors.

Apple's support for the (RED) campaign, which fights AIDS, has been ongoing since 2006. The company has donated a portion of product sales in the U.S., contributing to over $250 million raised for the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria. Apple is the largest corporate donor to the campaign.

The partnership with the Global Fund continues in sub-Saharan Africa, where Apple employees have been making a difference. Sandra Maranhão, an Apple Store team member in Rio de Janeiro, volunteers with organisations raising awareness around prostate cancer, helping those living on the streets, and supporting young people in her community.

Apple's efforts extend to addressing food disparity. The company supports food banks and organisations working to alleviate food insecurity through its Strengthen Local Communities grant program and other initiatives.

Apple's commitment to racial equity and justice is evident in its expansion of the Racial Equity and Justice Initiative to Australia, supporting organisations advancing equity in the country's Indigenous community.

In times of crisis, Apple stands by its employees. During the current situation in Ukraine, Apple has a two-to-one matching program for employee donations to organisations helping support humanitarian efforts.

The creative side of Apple's Employee Giving program is showcased through the Creative Studios program by Today at Apple. This initiative partners with community organisations, mentors, and Apple Store teams to offer career-building creative experiences.

For Earth Day, more than 1,300 Apple team members participated in dozens of cleanups and environmentally focused events. Apple also provided grants to environmental justice organisations, including the Michigan Environmental Justice Coalition, the Center for Diversity and the Environment, the Native Conservancy, and UPROSE.

The impact of Apple's Employee Giving program is evident in the over 2 million volunteer hours logged and the over $880 million raised. The program encourages employees to give back, with Apple matching each hour volunteered or dollar donated with a monetary donation to the same organisation.

In Tokyo, Sankakusha, a nonprofit, connected young adults struggling with isolation to professionals in photography and videography for a five-week course. Yusuke Arai, Sankakusha's founder, stated that the program enabled their youth to express themselves and find their voice, with some finding full-time jobs and others returning to school.

Apple's Employee Giving program is a testament to the company's commitment to making a positive impact on the world. Through volunteering, donations, and partnerships with various organisations, Apple employees are making a difference, one community at a time.
