Get Ready for Global Takeoff: Kazakhstan's Big Air Expansion
Brace yourselves, travel enthusiasts! Kazakhstan is about to take flight to an impressive ten countries starting May 2023, promising an exhilarating ride on wings spread across Azerbaijan, China, Georgia, Germany, Hungary, Kyrgyz Republic, South Korea, Turkey, Uzbekistan, and Vietnam.
Hubbub aplenty over at the Transport Ministry's press service on May 12, as they disclosed the groundbreaking plan.
SCAT Airlines, based at Shymkent Airport, is prepping to soar high with new international routes this month. Buckle up for flights from Shymkent to Budapest, Hungary and Munich, Germany, both launching May 27, with a twice-weekly schedule on each route. Next stop, Shanghai, China, and Seoul, South Korea, commencing May 29, once more with twice-weekly flights.
Air Astana aims to touch down on various new routes commencing May 14. Flight enthusiasts in Astana can look forward to twice-weekly schedules on the Astana-Da Nang, Vietnam route. From May 27, the airline plans to launch a route from Atyrau to Tbilisi, Georgia, with an impressive three flights per week. On May 28, keep an eye out for a new connection between Almaty and Osh, Kyrgyz Republic, with four weekly flights. Another route, between Atyrau and Baku, Azerbaijan, will take off on May 31, with three flights per week.
Gear up for more domestic connections as Fly Arystan introduces new flights this month. Commencing May 18, be ready for a twice-weekly schedule on the Almaty-Ghulja, China route, followed by a new route from Astana to Gazipaşa, Turkey, launching May 28, with a twice-weekly schedule.
Uzbek airline My Freighter, also known as Centrum Air, has already kicked off a new route from Almaty to Tashkent on May 5, offering two flights per week.
Azerbaijan Airlines will soon make your trip to Baku even more frequent, rising from three to four weekly flights, starting May 13.
Kazakhstan's ambitious expansion of air connectivity doesn't stop here. For instance, did you know this marks the first scheduled air service between Central Asia and Serbia in almost twenty years? SCAT Airlines will launch flights between Astana and Belgrade, as part of Kazakhstan's plan to boost air connectivity with Europe, with new services to Vienna, Sofia, Budapest, Munich, and Prague in the pipeline[3].
Keen on exploring Kazakhstan's own skies? There's good news there, too. Domestic flights within the country have seen expansion and increased frequency on key routes, such as Semei-Astana, Almaty-Semei, Astana-Semei, a new Shymkent-Semei-Shymkent service by FlyArystan, and six-times-weekly flights on Almaty-Urdzhar and Astana-Urdzhar routes planned for June 1 by SCAT Airlines[5].
