Eid Al Adha Operating Hours for Metro and Buses in Riyadh Announced

During the upcoming Eid Al Adha holiday from June 5 to June 14, 2025, Riyadh's public transport authority has announced special operating hours for the city's metro and bus systems. This adjustment aims to accommodate the increased travel during one of the busiest times of the year.

According to the announcement, all metro lines will run until midnight (12 a.m.) throughout the holiday period, with varying morning start times. The Orange Line, a significant part of the city's expanding metro network, will operate daily from 10 am to midnight. Normal operations, starting at 6 am, will resume on June 15.

For the other metro lines, services will start at 8 am on June 5. From June 6 to 8, start times will shift to 10 am, returning to 8 am from June 9 to 11. Regular service, beginning at 6 am, will resume on June 12.

City bus services will maintain daily operations from 5 a.m. to midnight between June 5 and June 12. On-demand bus services will also be available during this period, offering added convenience for travelers.

These changes are in effect from June 5 to June 14, 2025, which corresponds to Dhul Hijjah 9 to 18. Both metro and bus services in Riyadh maintain late-night service until midnight throughout Eid Al Adha, with buses starting early at 5 a.m. and metro lines starting later in the morning with varying times dependent on the line.

The announcement was made as the hajj journey, intertwined with Eid Al Adha, approach, anticipating increased demand for transportation during the festivities.

The travel news alongside lifestyle announcements has revealed that Riyadh's public transport system will extend its service during Eid Al Adha, catering to the anticipated rise in travel. The Orange Line of the metro will operate from 10 am to midnight throughout the holiday, while other metro lines will start at varying times, ranging from 8 am to 10 am. City buses will be in operation from 5 am to midnight, offering on-demand services for added convenience during the festive period.
