City-wide Bicycle Giveaway and Discounted Public Transportation in Halle During European Mobility Week
In the heart of Germany, Halle is gearing up for the European Mobility Week, a Europe-wide campaign promoting sustainable mobility in cities. This year, the event will take place from September 19th to 21st, 2025.
One of the key players in Halle's participation is HAVAG, a part of Stadtwerke Halle group. The movemix_app by HAVAG offers easy rental of movemix_bikes and booking of movemix_shuttles, providing residents and visitors with flexible and eco-friendly transport options.
The movemix_bike rental is done via the movemix_app by displaying a nearby available bike, unlocking it via QR code, and returning it to a fixed station in Halle. During the European Mobility Week, users of the movemix_app can borrow a movemix_bike for free four times, each time for 15 minutes, making it an ideal choice for short trips around the city.
However, it's important to note that the movemix_app and Mein HALLE Unterwegs, another mobility app for Halle, do not offer free movemix_bike rentals during the European Mobility Week. While the movemix_app includes a quick ticket purchase and practical check-in/check-out function, the Stadtwerke app Mein HALLE Unterwegs tracks the live locations of buses and trains, allowing for comfortable and eco-friendly exploration of the city on the Saale.
In addition to the movemix_app, HAVAG is also participating in the European Mobility Week's initiative to encourage the use of public transport and eco-friendly means of transport. During the event, the "2 for 1" action is available on all HAVAG lines in Halle (Tariff Zone 210). This means that anyone booking a ticket in the movemix_app can travel on all HAVAG lines with one other person for the price of one. This offer applies to all single tickets and 24-hour tickets booked within Zone 210.
In the future, the Stadtwerke app Mein HALLE Unterwegs will indicate how full the vehicles are, providing users with real-time information to plan their journeys more efficiently. Both movemix_app and Mein HALLE Unterwegs aim to make mobility in Halle easier and more efficient.
As the European Mobility Week approaches, Halle residents and visitors can look forward to a more sustainable and efficient city, thanks to the efforts of HAVAG and the Stadtwerke group.
