Arriva Netherlands to Revolutionize West Brabant with Zero-Emission Buses and MaaS
Arriva Netherlands, led by Anne Hettinga, has secured a ten-year contract to serve West Brabant. The company plans to revolutionise public transport in the region with a significant expansion of routes and a complete shift to zero-emission buses.
Arriva's winning bid for West Brabant focuses on a robust, future-proof network. This includes more direct bus routes and a significantly expanded timetable. The company aims to make its entire fleet emission-free by 2030, a decade ahead of the national target.
The new fleet will consist of over 200 zero-emission electric buses, set to enter service from July 2025. These buses will offer passengers clear information technology and comfortable seating with interiors made from circular materials. The introduction of these buses coincides with the launch of 'glimble by Arriva', the company's Mobility as a Service (MaaS) offering, which is already connecting travellers throughout the Netherlands.
Arriva's international expertise will be brought to West Brabant, with the company's successful expansion into Italy, including the city of Trieste, serving as a testament to its global capabilities.
Arriva's commitment to West Brabant for the next ten years promises significant improvements in public transport. With an expanded network, a complete shift to zero-emission buses, and the introduction of its innovative MaaS offering, Arriva is set to enhance mobility and sustainability in the region.
